The Secret Circle aired on The CW for one season in 2011. Fans have remained loyal to the series years after it was cancelled by the network. The series helped launched the careers of Britt Robertson, Shelley Hennig, and Phoebe Tonkin.

After the season one finale aired on The CW, fans waited anxiously for renewal news about the series. News did come on the day after the finale. Initially, a news outlet reported that The Secret Circle was indeed picked up for a second season.

However, the news outlet corrected their report minutes later to state the series had been cancelled.

Andrew Miller was the man behind the series, and he has not given up hope on a possible return for the series in some format.

Season one ended with the arrival of the Blackwell children, and season two would have dealt with the chaos they caused.

With the series cancelled, the door has opened to take the series in a new direction. Miller spoke with Book Trib about what he would like to do with the series if he was given the chance to bring back the characters and story. He would do anything to get The Secret Circle back together.

“A movie, a play, a commercial campaign for crystals, you name it. Alloy asked me if I had any interest in trying a lower budget version of the show that could be done on Netflix and I pitched them an idea I really loved and would’ve done in a second. Following Diana after the finale to California, where she was alone and confused and struggling between her good nature and the dark magic she just accessed to kill her father. My dream was to set her life up in California, then bring in Faye to mess it up.”
