The Suite Life on Deck: Watch the Return of Ashley Tisdale as Maddie

The Suite Life of Zack and Cody follows twin boys (Cole Sprouse, Dylan Sprouse) who take up residence in the fabulous Tipton Hotel when their Mom (Kim Rhodes) is hired to sing in the hotel’s lounge. Spoiled heiress London Tipton (Brenda Song) also lives at the hotel and, along with her friend Maddie (Ashley Tisdale), causes plenty of trouble of her own. Their antics keep hotel manager Mr. Moseby (Phill Lewis) busy trying to keep everything running smoothly.

Zack and Cody ran for 87 episodes and three seasons on the Disney Channel. Though young viewers may have been upset that the series was coming to an end, The Suite Life on Deck was all ready to take its place. Most of the characters moved to life on the S.S. Tipton cruise ship and headed out to sea. New performers include Erin Cardillo, Matthew Timmons, and Debby Ryan.

One of the characters left on shore however was Maddie. Tisdale’s career has been taking off in lots of different directions thanks in large part to the success of the High School Musical movies and she didn’t sign on to the new series. Thankfully for her fans, she’s not adverse to reprising her role for Deck. She recently appeared on an episode called “Maddie on Deck.”

Ashley shared about her return, “I was really nervous when I saw the script. I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, I get to be Maddie again.’ Dylan and Cole were just totally there like hugging me and they’re both so excited… I missed everybody so much that I was really glad to be back.”

In the episode, Maddie’s saved up enough money to take a trip on the cruise ship. While on a stop at a foreign port, a prince from Linchtenstamp falls in love with Maddie and wants her hand in marriage. If she doesn’t agree, the ship won’t be allowed to leave. What will Maddie do? Will Zack’s crush be gone forever?
