TV show description:
This reality show competition pairs celebrities with world-class athletes. The personalities come from such diverse backgrounds as television, dance, music, and high-fashion while the athletes have performed on the world stage in baseball, football, basketball, soccer, and alpine skiing.
Each week, the teams compete in various challenges and their athletic prowess and strategy are put to the test. Events include swimming, biking, running, kayaking, and obstacle courses. There are also a fair share of head-to-head challenges as well. Each week, an unlikely duo is eliminated from the competition until one team is crowned the ultimate winner.
The show is co-hosted by TV personality Jenn Brown, ESPN’s John Saunders, and Warren Sapp, a former NFL All-Pro defensive tackle and a competitor on the original version.
The Superstars is based on ABC’s classic Wide World of Sports series of the same name from the 1970s. That version pitted top competitors from a variety of different sports against each other to determine the world’s best overall athlete.
