The Traitors format has been a big success internationally and for Peacock (which uses celebrity contestants) in the United States. Now, NBC is trying a non-celebrity version in primetime. Will it also be a hit? Will The Traitors: New Blood be cancelled or renewed for a second season on the network? Stay tuned.
A competition reality series, The Traitors: New Blood TV show is hosted by Alan Cumming. (NBCUniversal is treating this as the fifth season of The Traitors.) Set at a castle deep in the Scottish Highlands, this psychological adventure sees contestants work together on a series of exhilarating missions to build a prize fund worth up to $250,000. Hidden among the Faithful are the secret Traitors, who “murder” the Faithful one-by-one under the cover of darkness as the Faithful race to uncover their identities and eject them from the game. At the end of the competition, if the remaining Faithful banish every Traitor, they share the prize fund; if even one Traitor survives to the end, the Traitors take it all.

Note: These are the final national ratings, including all live+same day viewing and DVR playback (through 3:00 AM). While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but typically the higher-rated series are renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled.
