It was a very positive start to the new cycle of The Voice. Compared to last fall’s launch, NBC was up by 14% in the demo (vs a 4.2 rating) and up by 11% in viewership (vs 12.28 million). Unless Tuesday’s edition performs even better, this episode will have the best network demo of the week.
Reference point: Last spring’s edition of The Voice (which typically ran once a week) averaged a 5.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 13.14 million total viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
