The Walking Dead: AMC Developing Companion Series

Last week, AMC announced that they’d given the go-ahead for a Breaking Bad prequel spin-off. Now, the cable channel is looking to develop a companion series for The Walking Dead, last year’s top-rated TV show in the 18-49 demographic.

The project doesn’t have a name yet but it will be executive produced by Walking Dead executive producers Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert for AMC Studios.

Charlie Collier, AMC’s president and general manager, says that the show will have an entirely new story and cast of characters but will take place during the same zombie apocalypse.

The plan is for it to air sometime in 2015 while season four of The Walking Dead is scheduled to start on October 13th.
