The Wall: Season One Ratings

The Wall TV show on NBC: ratings (cancel or season 2?)On The Wall TV show, contestants take their chances, play the game, and try to win big. That’s a lot like what the networks do with their programming as they try to attract lots of viewers and big ratings. Will The Wall TV series bring big numbers for NBC? Will this show be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.

A game show, The Wall is hosted by Chris Hardwick. The TV show follows pairs of players as they pursue a cash prize of up to $12 million. If a team answers a trivia question correctly, a green ball is released from the top of the grid-like wall and bounces randomly toward the bottom of the four-stories high structure. At the bottom of the wall, the ball will land in one of many slots, each with a value of $1 to $1 million. The value is added to the team’s total winnings. If the team misses a question, a red ball is released and this ball will also land in a random slot. This amount will be deducted from the team’s total. In this game, players need both the answers and lucky bounces to win a big cash prize.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

1/18 update: NBC has ordered 20 more episodes, some of which will be part of a second seaosn. Details here.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
