Behind the Scenes

The series debuted following an episode of the hugely successful American Idol but lost a significant number of Idol’s viewers. When Bells moved to its regular Friday night timeslot, the ratings got much worse. FOX stopped production after seven episodes and pulled the series from the schedule after only five of them had aired.
The series was created by David E. Kelley who also created Picket Fences, Boston Legal, The Practice and Ally McBeal.
