HBO is ready to take its viewers back in time to the Watergate era with a new limited series starring Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux. The White House Plumbers is set to focus on the pair that helped end Nixon’s presidency with the Watergate scandal. The actors also act as executive producers on the series.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the series tells “the true story of how Nixon’s political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds accidentally toppled the presidency they were zealously trying to protect.”
Casey Bloys, HBO president of programming, said the following about the new series:
“We’re excited to bring together such a talented team to take on this fascinating look at the internal machinations that brought down the Nixon White House. We’re especially happy to welcome both Woody and Justin back to HBO and are looking forward to getting started.”
A premiere date for The White House Plumbers has not yet been set.
