It’s time for new crimes on Investigation Discovery. Today, the network announced a new three-part series, The Wives Did It, which will premiere on November 6th.

The series focuses on the personal conflicts found in polygamist households.

Each episode will focus on a single story and include commentary from authorities as well as first-hand accounts. The Wives Did It will join the ranks of Investigation Discovery’s many other wife-based crime series which include the popular Wives with Knives series.

Here’s the official announcement:

(Silver Spring, Md.) – One man. Many wives. From the outside, it’s a cozy picture of contented sister-wives raising a house full of kids. But, on the inside, it can become more “sister-knives” – with sizzling bitter rivalries, simmering tensions and surging jealousies. Investigation Discovery’s (ID) all-new series THE WIVES DID IT takes viewers inside the homes of polygamist perpetrators, where lies and resentment grow unchecked in these expanded households. THE WIVES DID IT sheds more than a bedroom night light on scandalous tales that took place inside polygamist families: the three-part series premieres Friday, November 6 at 10/9c, only on ID.

“This series is a perfect storm of drama, as love and affection become clouded with raging jealousy and deadly competition,” said Henry Schleiff, Group President, Discovery Networks. “THE WIVES DID IT shows that more isn’t always merrier, especially when your wives turn against one another, or worse yet, against you.”

Each hour-long episode of THE WIVES DID IT features one true crime story interlaced with expert commentary from local authorities and experts, as well as first person accounts from friends and families of the victims.

In the premiere episode “The Polygamist Prophet,” Rulon Allred is part of a Mormon fundamentalist sect in Salt Lake City and with seven wives and 48 kids, tensions and jealousies are inevitable. But things take a dark twist on an ordinary day in 1977, when a masked gunman fatally shoots Allred at work. The search is on for the Salt Lake City Police Department, and everyone is a suspect… even Allred’s seven wives. Have simmering tensions finally boiled over? Or did Rulon have an even more sinister enemy?”
