The X-Files: Chris Carter Is Willing To Do More; But What Would He Need?

The X-Files will return to FOX in January. The six-episode revival will bring back Dana Scully and Fox Mulder, played by Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. The revival of this popular FOX series has been hyped since earlier this year. Now, there are only three months left before the return.

Could fans see more of The X-Files after this revival wraps? Absolutely. If the viewership is there, FOX could want more, but Chris Carter would only bring more story to the small screen on one condition – his cast joins him.

He said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that it all depended on the actors and their schedules.

He is excited for the return of this series, but it was a challenge for him. He spoke about the biggest challenge he faced in the interview.

“It’s a new thing, just doing six. It’ll be eight months of my life, where it used to be 11 and a half months to do 22 or 25 [episodes]. Once the negotiations were done, we had to get up and running quickly and hire people. I looked to hire people I worked with before, but over time many of them had moved up [from their original positions], so we hired some new people. You couldn’t put the band back together, perfectly … [but] it was good fortune we were able to hire the people we were.”
