The X-Files will return to Fox with a six-episode mini-series in January. Fans are definitely hyped about the return of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, who are played by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
Chris Carter took the first episode of the revival to an event earlier this week, and he generated big excitement about the fact that he kept the original credits from the Fox series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, he said that they thought about “doing some changes to the original credits, but then it seemed like sacrilege. Those credits were on 202 episodes. They belong on these next six.”
Chris Carter is really excited about the upcoming season of The X-Files, and he is open to doing more seasons if the revival does well. Most of the original cast will appear, so fans will see the Smoking Man and others pop up.
However, some fans have not been happy about the fact that Mulder and Scully have broken up in the time period following the last film. Carter called it a “dream come true” to bring back the original characters to tell more stories, but fans will see a very different pair on the series this time around.
