The X-Files is one month away from its return to FOX. There has not been much in the way of new spoilers, but one of the returning cast members is speaking about his return to the franchise for the revival.

Mitch Pileggi starred on all nine seasons of the original FOX series when it aired, and he is bringing back Walter Skinner for the revival, and he is willing to continue on with the character if the revival continues on passed the six-episode revival too.

He said:

“If it continues, I’ll always want to do this character. Whether [Carter] wants me to do it or not, or whether he has things for me to do are another thing.”

He also spoke about the return of Skinner with The Hollywood Reporter. Skinner is still with the FBI when the show picks up. In fact, he is still the assistant director, and the actor joked that he is in the same office. He only moved his desk.

Fans will not see anything about Skinner’s life outside of the FBI. Pileggi spoke about Skinner’s place with the FBI with The Hollywood Reporter.

“That’s what it comes down to: the reason he’s still an assistant director is because he was hanging out with Spooky for too long. He’s probably been…he’s probably been ostracized a little bit by the other higher ups in the FBI, because he hasn’t advanced.”

Pileggi revealed that it is his dedication to his work that has kept him with the FBI.
