The FOX six-episode “event series” revival of The X-Files, premieres with a special two-night event following the NFC championship game. The X-Files kicks off Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 10:00pm ET (note: 7:00pm PT) and continues with its premiere on Monday, January 25 at 8:00pm ET/PT.
In anticipation, we bring you the new trailer, in which Mulder wonders, “What if our work — the X-Files — everything we’ve been led to believe in, is a lie?” Take heart, Mulder. Fans believed The X-Files was cancelled, yet it is back after a mere 13-year hiatus.
The X-Files stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Mitch Pileggi returns as FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner. Per FOX, the all-new episodes will feature appearances by guest stars including Joel McHale, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Annabeth Gish, Annet Mahendru, Rhys Darby, Kumail Nanjiani, and William B. Davis, who reprises his role as “Cigarette Smoking Man.” Chris Carter pens and directs three of the six new episodes. The other three are written and directed by X-Files vets Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan and James Wong.
