Now, it wouldn’t be X-Files without Scully and Mulder. But, as TVLine reports, some other key members of the original X-Files won’t be returning for the highly anticipated FOX reboot.
Of course, many of the key players will be back for the series’ six-episode return. David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, and Mitch Pileggi will be reprising their iconic roles in addition to writers Darin Morgan, Glen Morgan, James Wong, and series creator Chris Carter.
However, Agent Doggett? Kersh? Apparently, Carter made offers to both Robert Patrick and James Pickens, Jr., but both had prior commitments. It turns out, former executive producers/writers Frank Spotnitz and Vince Gilligan were also busy. Spotnitz is currently executive producer for Amazon’s upcoming series Man in the High Castle while Gilligan is right in the midst of Better Call Saul‘s season two production.
What do you think? Excited for the X-Files reboot? Besides the leads, who would you most like to see return?
