Tony Take the Wheel is now in development at CBS. The comedy is coming from Cedric the Entertainer. Cedric is fully involved in the comedy project. He will create, star, and executive produce the series. Spike Feresten, from Seinfeld, will co-create the series and write the pilot episode.
Deadline shared the following about the plot of the series:
“Tony Take the Wheel centers on the relationship between two very different brothers whose family dynamic is challenged when one brother (Cedric) hires his teenage nephew to work at his custom car shop.”
If this series moves forward, it would mark the return of Cedric to broadcast television. He last appeared on FOX in Cedric the Entertainer Presents in 2002. He last appeared in The Soul Man on TV Land. That series ended a five season run in 2015.
