The cat in the hat (and vest) is back. Characters from the Hanna-Barbera animated series Top Cat recently appeared in a commercial for the British company Halifax.
Top Cat centered around the adventures of a clever cat and his gang of friends. The cartoon first aired in 1961 and ran for only 30 episodes before ending in 1962.
Since the original series ended, several Top Cat spin-offs have been made, including comic books, music, and a Spanish-language feature film released in 2011. Now, Top Cat and his friends are part of the ad campaign for Halifax, a mortgage company based in the UK.
