Top Gear: Matt LeBlanc Leaving UK Auto Series

Matt LeBlanc to host Top Gear TV show season 24 on BBC America and BBC Two: season 24 (canceled or renewed?).

Matt LeBlanc is moving on. Deadline reports the Top Gear star is leaving the BBC TV show after season 26.

LeBlanc joined the car-themed show in 2016 after long-time hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May left. LeBlanc hosts the UK series alongside presenters Chris Harris and Rory Reid.

According to Deadline, LeBlanc will exit Top Gear after the show’s 26th season. The BBC says the series will continue with a new host in 2019.

From LeBlanc:

My experience on Top Gear has been great fun. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the whole team. However, the time commitment and extensive travel required to present Top Gear takes me away from my family and friends more than I’m comfortable with. It’s unfortunate, but for these reasons I will not be continuing my involvement with the show. I will forever be a Top Gear fan and I wish the team continued success. Thanks for a great drive.”

What do you think? Do you watch Top Gear? Will you miss Matt LeBlanc as host?
