King Kong has nothin’ on this. Deadline reports CBS has picked up a series based on the film Training Day for the 2016-17 season.

Released in 2001, the film starred Denzel Washington as a corrupt LAPD detective who takes a young cop, played by Ethan Hawke, under his wing.

Here’s a description of the series from CBS:

A crime thriller that begins 15 years after the events of the feature film left, about an idealistic young police officer (Justin Cornwell) who is appointed to an elite squad of the LAPD where he is partnered with a seasoned, morally ambiguous detective (Bill Paxton).”

The movie’s director, Antoine Fuqua, will executive produce the show alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman , Will Beall, and Barry Schindel.
