The second season will see Jeffrey Tambor return as Maura Pfefferman, a transgender woman going through the transition later in life. All the Pfeffermans will be returning to creator Jill Soloway’s dramedy for what looks like more family drama and the possibility of surgery for Maura.
Season one of Transparent was critically acclaimed and won five Primetime Emmy Awards, including one for Jeffrey Tambor for Best Actor and one for Outstanding Directing.
The series was renewed for a third season in June, and season two premieres on Amazon Prime on December 4th.
