Amazon is going to Cuba. Deadline reports the streaming service has picked up a new pilot titled Tropicana.
The project comes from Josh Goldin and Rachel Abramowitz.
Tropicana will explore the Cuban revolution from the perspective of the Tropicana nightclub. Per Deadline: “With the club as a focal point, the series explores the intersection of entertainers, the mob, Batista loyalists, Castro revolutionaries and the American CIA.”
Amazon has ordred four other new pilots, including a new dramedy from Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.
