True Blood: Should Season Seven Be the End?

true blood last season? It’s no secret that True Blood isn’t as popular as it once was. The ratings have been coming down over the past few seasons. While the show’s not in danger of being cancelled, it may be time to end the show on its own terms.

According to TVLine and showrunner Brian Buckner, the fate of True Blood is currently being decided. Will season seven be the last?

Buckner says, “That conversation is happening, but we don’t have an answer yet… I’m being told that I will know – which doesn’t mean that I will tell everybody. But I will know when the writers resume in the room [next month] whether or not we’re wrapping it up or not.”

Seasons three and four of True Blood averaged 4.97 million viewers each. Season five drew 4.66 million and the just-ended sixth season brought 4.23 million. The season six finale drew 4.14 million, the series’ lowest since season one.

Season seven of True Blood is slated to start airing next summer.

What do you think? Is it time for True Blood to end or should there be an eighth or ninth season?
