Donald Sutherland is coming to FX. TVLine reports the Ice star has joined the network’s upcoming TV show Trust.
The limited series will focus on the life of John Paul Getty III, the heir of oil tycoon Jean Paul Getty. The series is being described as “equal parts family history, dynastic saga and satirical examination of the corrosive power of money.” It will begin in 1973, the year John Paul Getty III was kidnapped by the mafia.
Sutherland will play J. Paul Getty, the head of the Getty dynasty. Earlier, it was reported Danny Boyle will be directing some of the episodes for Trust. FX has not yet announced a premiere date.
