Hulu Plus
The TV video website has struck a deal with Carsey Werner TV Distribution to license 11 of their vintage sitcoms. They are The Cosby Show, 3rd Rock From the Sun, Grounded for Life, Men Behaving Badly, That ’80s Show, The Tracy Morgan Show, Whoopi, Damon, Game Over, Davis Rules, and Normal, Ohio. The 580 episodes are available for viewing via Hulu’s subscription service, Hulu Plus. Some of Carsey Werner’s biggest titles — Roseanne, That ’70s Show, and Grace Under Fire — weren’t included in the deal.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
It seems that the folks at Facebook have been developing a smartphone of their own that will have deep integration with the social network. The phone’s codename is “Buffy,” named after our favorite vampire slayer.
Desperate Housewives
If you were a resident of Wisteria Lane, it’d be a good idea to find someplace else to stay for the holidays. In past Decembers, we’ve seen riots, a plane crash, and a tornado come to the neighborhood. There won’t be any big catastrophes this year though, mostly because of budgetary reasons. They’re supposedly saving their extra dollars to put into May’s series finale.
Mission: Impossible
The National Hockey League has made its first major pact with a film studio and they’ve chosen to work with Paramount to help promote Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. During this Friday’s Boston Bruins vs. Detroit Red Wings game, NBC will air offer clips of the upcoming Tom Cruise sequel. The movie opens nationwide on December 21st. In addition, the “NHL Mission Impossible” sweepstakes will be pushed for five weeks and other NHL-related telecasts will integrate Ghost Protocol clips.
Thanksgiving marathons
