This week, WGN America announced they’ve cancelled Underground after two seasons. Now, TVInsider reports the stars and producers of the TV series are trying to save the show.
The historical drama follows the heroes of the Underground Railroad who harnessed every bit of their wits, strength, and grit in order to escape slavery and live as free men and women. The cast includes Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Aldis Hodge, Jessica De Gouw, Alano Miller, Christopher Meloni, Marc Blucas, and Reed Diamond.
On social media, stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Aldis Hodge, and Amirah Vann and executive producer John Legend urged fans to campaign for a third season of Underground on another network:
WGN America has been bought and is going a different direction strategically. We will find a new home for #Underground! https://t.co/xY47THI1Yl
