Yesterday, we reported that Once Upon a Time star Jennifer Morrison is leaving the ABC TV series after six seasons. Recently, Morrison spoke with Deadline about her decision and the possibility of returning to the show for season seven.
ABC has not yet announced a season seven renewal for Once Upon a Time. Earlier, executive producer Edward Kitsis suggested that if the show is renewed, season seven will reboot the series with new characters and new storylines.
When Morrison announced her exit from Once Upon a Time, she mentioned she’s agreed to appear in one episode of season seven if the show is renewed. But does that mean she’s open to more episodes? She told Deadline:
All I can say is that I only negotiated for one episode, and that’s all I can promise at this point.”
Later, Morrison teased the upcoming season six finale, which will feature a battle between her character Emma Swan and The Black Fairy:
It’s tough to do that without giving anything away. What I can say is that I feel like everything culminates in a way that I feel is very true to Emma’s story and true to everything that she’s been through. I thought (Horowitz and Kitsis), as always, came up with something that was really creative and inventive in terms of what it was that Emma really has to face in order to fight the final battle. I’m very pleased with how they’ve written the character and how they have everything play out in the last couple of episodes.”
The two-hour season six finale of Once Upon a Time debuts on May 14th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Once Upon a Time? If renewed, will you watch season seven without Jennifer Morrison?
