The Vampire Diaries TV series finale, which airs on The CW, Friday, March 10th, will be delayed by one hour. While the series usually airs at 8:00pm ET/PT, the network will first air a special one hour retrospective, The Vampire Diaries: “Forever Yours.”

The CW says, “‘Forever Yours’ will be a treat for TVD fans, as we go back to re-live the past 8 seasons and say good-bye to this beloved show.” From Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, The Vampire Diaries stars Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham, Candice King, Zach Roerig, Matthew Davis, and Michael Malarkey. Currently, it is unclear whether original star Nina Dobrev will return for the finale, and if so, how involved she will be.

According to The CW, both episodes will re-run on a special night, Thursday, March 16, with the times flipped.
