The Vampire Diaries is ending season seven tonight, and the finale will take the characters left on dark journey during season eight. Before the finale, everyone was fighting to save Bonnie. Next season, there will be a new mission.
According to TV Guide, Paul Wesley said that season eight, which will premiere next fall, will be “going to be really dark, really twisted and really fun.”
Another TV Guide report shared the comments made by Brian Young, who wrote the finale that aired tonight. He said:
“In Season 8, there will be a big shift in two of our characters’ lives. And [the other characters will] have to rally the troops and figure out what they need to do to get them back.”
