Is Whoopi Goldberg leaving The View? Recently, the co-host said she is leaving the ABC talk show after its current season, EW reports.
Goldberg has been on The View since 2007. She’s one of the longest-running co-hosts to serve on the daytime series besides former and fellow castmates Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Meredith Vieira, and Star Jones.
On a recent episode on The Wendy Williams Show, Goldberg says this season will probably be her last:
I have to do it, baby, because I have to go and grow. I got stuff to do, I got movies I need to direct, I got books I got to finish. This was great and I love doing it, but it’s been awhile and they’re in their 20th season, they did this without me. I’ve been here for half of it, but not all of it.”
She added:
I’m not gone yet, so I’m still there now. Don’t worry about it.”
Season 20 of The View debuted earlier this month.
