Vinyl is coming to HBO this January, and the network gave viewers another look at the new series on Sunday night with a brand new trailer release. Entertainment Weekly shared the trailer shortly after its release on HBO. The series will take viewers back to the 1970s and show off the time period and its music.
Vinyl has some big names involved. Behind the scenes, the series is helmed by executive producers Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Terrence Winter. In front of the camera, viewers will see a cast that includes Bobby Cannavale, Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, Ato Essandoh, Max Casella, P.J. Byrne, J.C. MacKenzie, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Juno Temple, Jack Quaid, James Jagger, and Paul Ben-Victor.
There might be more additions to the cast in the future. Mick Jagger has been trying to get Harry Styles from One Direction to star in the series. A source told The Daily Star Sunday last month that Jagger was trying to land the singer for the drama.
“Mick feels Harry has the potential to be a cross-over star, making it in movies and music in a similar way to David Bowie. He believes a role in Vinyl is the perfect starting spot for Harry. The role will give Harry his step up into acting and show fans that he’s shaken off his teen pop appeal.”
