“HISTORY is honoring veterans with a special four-hour Veterans Day marathon event of its original docuseries The Warfighters produced by Peter Berg’s Film 45. Driven by first-person accounts, the unnarrated series chronicles recent U.S. Special Operations Forces missions in the global war on terror as it gives viewers an inside and candid look at the realities of war. The series is largely made in part by veterans with over 90 veterans participating in the production. The Warfighters, premieres with four back-to-back new episodes on Saturday, November 11 beginning at 8pm ET/PT.

The United States Special Operations Forces are some of the most highly trained troops in the world and they have been fighting the global war on terror for over sixteen years – the longest ongoing conflict in American history. Army Rangers, Green Berets, Marines, and Navy SEALs are among the brave that operate at the tip of the spear combating terrorism. The Warfighters is an authentic, powerful portrayal of the high-stakes environment that these service members must operate in and the challenges they face from doing so. Each episode includes intimate interviews, action-packed cinematic sequences and original footage and images from the real operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. This series represents the human experience of war; true stories of sacrifice, bravery, brotherhood, heroism and above all, honor.

The Warfighters Veterans Day special marathon event (airing on Saturday, November 11 from 8pm-11:59pm ET/PT) features the stories of Roberts Ridge: A quick reaction force of U.S. Army Rangers heads into the snowy mountains of Afghanistan in 2002 to rescue a missing Navy SEAL when enemy fighters bombard them and multiple teammates are killed. Struggling with the loss, the solidarity the unit displays while under fire demonstrates the true bond of this brotherhood. Ranger Machine: Iraq 2006, a team of U.S. Army Rangers leads a covert operation to take out a group of Al-Qaeda high value targets. Objective Berlin: A platoon of U.S. Army Rangers on a battle damage assessment mission in 2009 learns the hard way that bullets don’t discriminate when they lose two of their own on the same operation in Afghanistan and have to overcome adversity in the face of extreme challenges, not only on the battlefield, but also on the homefront. A Soldier’s Best Friend: U.S. Army Ranger, Trent McDonald, was feeling stagnant when he discovered dog handling and found a new purpose. This is a story of friendship and the unique bond between man and dog.

The Warfighters is produced by Film 45 for HISTORY. Executive Producers from Film 45 are Peter Berg (Lone Survivor, Friday Night Lights), Matt Goldberg and Brandon Carroll with Jenny Ewig as Co-Executive Producer, and former Navy SEAL Ray Mendoza and former Army Ranger Mike Baumgarten as Producers. Matt Ginsburg is the Executive Producer for HISTORY. A+E Networks holds worldwide distribution rights for The Warfighters.”
