Watch Sherwood Schwartz of Gilligan’s Island and The Brady Bunch Finally Receive His Star

Sherwood Schwartz created two of the most popular sitcoms in television history. While thousands of television series have been forgotten by the general public, Schwartz’s Gilligan’s Island and Brady Bunch have never been off the air. They’ve also been revived in several successful reunion movies, series, and plays.

On March 8, 2008, the legendary Hollywood writer and producer received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Several celebrities were on hand to honor the 91-year-old Schwartz including Dawn Wells, Florence Henderson, Christopher Knight, Susan Olsen, and Monty Hall. Bob Denver’s son Patrick, who appeared in one episode of Gilligan’s Island as a child, was also in attendance.

Dozens of Brady and Gilligan fans stood by to witness the momentous occasion and congratulate Schwartz. For those who couldn’t attend, here’s a video of the ceremony.
