Two political giants just met. Entertainment Weekly reports The West Wing theme played during Lin-Manuel Miranda’s final Hamilton show.
Miranda, the creator and star of the Tony Award-winning musical about Alexander Hamilton, played his final show on July 9th alongside fellow exiting cast members Leslie Odom, Jr., Phillipa Soo, and Ariana DeBose.
During the curtain call, the orchestra began playing the theme song from Aaron Sorkin’s NBC political drama as Miranda took his final bow. Check out a video of the moment below (song starts around 1:40):
For those who haven’t seen Hamilton live (most of us), PBS is airing a special behind-the-scenes documentary, Great Performances: Hamilton’s America, on October 21st.
