Westworld is back on the map. Deadline reports the HBO series has resumed production and cast Lili Simmons in a recurring role.
Earlier, we reported the sci-fi series had taken a brief pause to “get ahead of the writing.”
Based on the 1973 film of the same name, Westworld is set at a Wild West theme park where androids begin attacking visitors. The series is being described as “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.”
Simmons will be playing “Abigail, who works in the park and uses her good looks and charm to lure Westworld guests into the saloon.” The actress joins other cast members Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, and James Marsden.
No word yet on when the series will premiere.
