Where Are They Now: Some Green Room Chatter for May 1, 2008

It’s an unfortunate reality of television viewing that, sooner or later, our favorite shows will come to an end. Fortunately, many of our favorite actors and actresses keep coming back in new shows. Here’s where you’ll be able to see some of the alumnae of some great cancelled TV shows…

Gale Harold (Vanished) is coming to Wisteria Lane on ABC’s Desperate Housewives. He’ll play a “quick-witted, charming, and buttoned-down suburbanite” who will first appear in the May 18th finale. He could appear on a recurring basis next season.

Alyssa Milano (Charmed) is in talks to star in a new comedy pilot for ABC. It’s an as-yet-untitled show from Kristin Newman (How I Met Your Mother, That 70’s Show) that follows a young woman who tries to break away from her overbearing boss, family, and friends. You can currently see Milano opposite Heroes’ Milo Ventimiglia in theaters in the new thriller titled Pathology.

Tom Amandes (Everwood), Missi Pyle (The Wedding Bells) and Alex Meneses (Everybody Loves Raymond) have been cast in ABC’s sitcom pilot called This Might Hurt. Josh Dean (Free Ride) had already been cast. Hurt focuses on a medical practice that’s run by a middle-age pediatrician (Amandes), his son (Dean), and an OB/GYN (Pyle). The office is run by an office manager (Meneses) who is a former telanovela star.

Susanna Thompson (The Book of Daniel) has joined the cast of NBC’s new drama called Kings. It’s a modern-day soap that’s loosely based on the story of King David. A pure-hearted young warrior named David Shepherd (Vanished’s Christopher Egan) joins the court of the charismatic King Silas (Deadwood’s Ian McShane) and Queen Rose (Thompson). Armando Riesco (3 lbs) is also part of the cast.

Carla Gugino (Threshold) will join Goran Visnjic (ER) in New York, I Love You; an anthology of Big Apple short films by different directors. Andrei Zvyagintsev will helm this particular segment.

Look for Justin Bartha (Teachers) to star opposite Catherine Zeta-Jones (The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles) in a romantic comedy called The Rebound. It’s currently filming in New York. Zeta-Jones plays a single-mom who falls for her new neighbor (Bartha).

NBC has announced the cast of their newest reality show called Celebrity Circus. As you might guess, the list of competitors includes castmembers from several cancelled shows like Christopher Knight (The Brady Bunch), Antonio Sabato Jr. (Melrose Place), Rachel Hunter (The Real Gilligan’s Island), and Jason “Wee Man” Acuna (Armed & Famous). The show kicks off on June 11th and will feature the contestants performing circus acts and competing for some prize. The ringmaster is Joey Fatone (The Singing Bee). Will we get to see all of the contestants before the show is cancelled? Stay tuned!
