All the world ‘s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. To that end, Jasmin Savoy Brown will star opposite Laurie Davidson’s young Shakespeare, in the Will TV series on TNT. Fans of Damon Lindelof’s HBO drama, The Leftovers, will recognize her as Evangeline “Evie” Murphy.
Per Deadline, Brown will play Emilia Bassano, the “Dark Lady” of Shakespeare’s sonnets. She is a musician, poet, writer and a “proto-feminist.” Olivia DeJonge, Colm Meaney, Mattias Inwood, Jamie Campbell Bower, and Ewen Bremner also star.

Emilia is an exotic and strikingly beautiful young woman. One of the most desired women in all of London, and mistress to the powerful Lord Hunsdon, Emilia goes on to become the first female professional English poet.
In addition to The Leftovers, Brown’s other TV series work includes playing Nina on Freeform‘s Stitchers, as well as appearances on Grimm and The Fosters.
