Wonder Woman: Adrianne Palicki to Star in NBC’s Pilot

It looks like Friday Night Lights alumna Adrianne Palicki is headed for Paradise Island. The actress has been signed to play the title character in NBC’s new Wonder Woman pilot.

This won’t be the first TV series remake for Palicki. One of her first jobs as an actress in Los Angeles was playing Judy Robinson in the 2003-04 pilot for a new Lost in Space TV show. Directed by John Woo, the pilot was produced for The WB but didn’t become a series. It was never aired.

More recently, Palicki was seen on Lone Star, FOX’s first cancelled series of this season. On Friday Night Lights, she played town vixon Tyra Collete. The actress was with the show for three seasons and returned for two episodes of the final season.

Palicki is known for doing many of her own stunts, a talent that will likely come in very handy on a series based on a comic book heroine. The actress is also fan of comics, though her favorite is not Wonder Woman but another DC Comics beauty. She told Esquire that she likes all kinds of comics but is “really into Supergirl. I have a Supergirl tattoo, and I’m a really big fan of Alan Moore’s stuff -— all of his stuff.”

Jeffrey Reiner, who directed NBC’s The Event, will direct the Wonder Woman pilot and it’s scheduled to start shooting in mid-March.

What do you think? Is Adrianne Palicki a good choice to play Wonder Woman?
