Work It revolves around a pair of unemployed guys — Lee Standish (Ben Koldyke) and Angel Ortiz (Amaury Nolasco) — who believe that the economic downturn has affected men more than women. Lee gets a job at a pharmaceuticals company after applying dressed as a woman and Angel follows. The two must maintain their charade to keep their jobs and end up learning a little something about what it means to be female.
The cast also includes Beth Lacke, John Caparulo, Rebecca Mader, Rochelle Aytes, Kate Reinders, Kirstin Eggers, and Hannah Sullivan.

The first episode, which aired on January 3rd, registered a 2.0 in the 18-49 demographic and 6.16 million total viewers. The premiere was in third place for its 8:30pm timeslot and lost 17% in the demo from its Last Man Standing lead-in.
When compared to the debut of already-canned Man Up! (which previously held the same timeslot), ABC was down by 17%.
After the weak premiere, Work It landed in 12th place on our season ratings list of ABC’s scripted shows. It presently has a “D+” grade. If word of mouth is any indication, the ratings for tonight’s episode will surely see that grade drop even further.
Even the network seems to know that Work It is not going to last. At today’s ABC session of the TCA Press Tour, network president Paul Lee said that he wasn’t ready to say when Cougar Town will be back but would announce a date in the next couple weeks. It seems almost certain that Cougar Town will be taking Work It’s place sooner than later.
