Fans of The X-Files may see Mulder and Scully back on the small screen sooner rather than later. David Duchovny teased a new season of the FOX series in his birthday message to Gillian Anderson on his Twitter account, according to Variety.
Happy Birthday, Gillian. If you see Dana, tell her Fox says she might wanna polish up the ol’ badge soon-ish. Love, D

The X-Files returned to FOX earlier this year for a 10th season, and fans were left with a cliffhanger and wanting more. Scheduling is the only thing stopping an 11th season from going into production. All parties involved have various projects on their plates.
Dana Walden and David Madden both talked about the return of the series at the TCA’s on Tuesday too. There are “significant talks” underway with the three main players of the series to bring the series back. It is just a matter of finding the time.
