Are we getting another season of The X-Files? TVWise reports FOX is close to announcing a new season of the series.
Earlier this year, the network aired six new episodes of the supernatural drama 14 years after the original series ended. Regular cast members David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, and Mitch Pileggi all returned for the revival.
The new season brought in strong numbers for FOX, earning an average rating of 3.19 in the 18-49 demo and 9.534 million viewers. Because of the revival’s success, the network is reportedly interested in more than six episodes for a potential season 11. However, neither FOX nor the creative team behind The X-Files has confirmed another season.
Still, an official renewal is reportedly expected “within weeks.”
