If you enjoyed watching the first season of the You TV show on Lifetime, you shouldn’t look for the second season on the same channel. Though the cable channel renewed the You series for season two earlier this year, Lifetime has decided to cancel plans to air more of the stalker drama series. Low ratings and the fact that the cable channel doesn’t own the series have been cited as the cause.
Netflix had already secured second-window rights for streaming both seasons of the series in the U.S. and first-run rights for streaming internationally. Season one starts streaming December 26th. With Lifetime dropping out, Netflix has picked up the first-run rights in the States for season two. There’s no word on when that will be released.
