Young & Hungry: Season Three Production Begins on Freeform Series

Are you hungry for more? ABC Family (soon to be Freeform) just announced they’ve begun production on season three of their sitcom Young & Hungry.

The series was renewed for a third season in August 2015.

Young & Hungry stars Emily Osment as a food blogger who is hired as the personal chef for a tech entrepreneur (Jonathan Sadowski). Rex Lee, Aimee Carrero, Kym Whitley, and Annie Potts also star.

Season two of the series ended this November, and the comedy overall scored low-but-steady ratings.

The third season is set to premiere on Freeform on February 3rd.

Burbank, CA (December 11, 2015) – Production began this week in Studio City, California, for the third season of the fan-favorite original comedy series “Young & Hungry,” starring Emily Osment, Jonathan Sadowski, Aimee Carrero, Kym Whitley and Rex Lee. The third season will premiere on Freeform, the new name for ABC Family, on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. ABC Family is becoming Freeform on January 12, 2016.

We left “Young & Hungry” at the end of the second season with Gabi heading off to the desert in her refurbished food truck with Josh’s brother, Jake (Jayson Blair). Meanwhile, Elliott and Alan celebrated the wedding of their dreams, while Yolanda and Sofia battled it out for the bouquet then found new opportunities for love.

Launch to date, “Young & Hungry” is ABC Family’s #1 comedy of all time in Becomers 12-34 and Women 18-34 and wins its cable time period across the key target demographics. The series and cast have been nominated for five Teen Choice Awards since its premiere in the summer of 2014.
