$100,000 Pyramid: ABC Reviving Classic Game Show for Primetime

$100,000 Pyramid game show on ABCFollowing the network’s success with Celebrity Family Feud and Battle Bots (both have been renewed for new seasons) ABC is reviving another classic game show for primetime — $100,000 Pyramid.

The original version, hosted by Dick Clark, began on CBS in 1973 and then moved to ABC. Various other versions have aired since then, including a short-lived attempt on GSN in 2012. This will be the first time that $100,000 Pyramid has aired on a network in primetime. Live! With Kelly and Michael’s Michael Strahan will host the 10 new episodes.

Hosted by Pro Football Hall of Famer and celebrated TV personality Michael Strahan, every episode will have 100 grand up for grabs.The hottest stars will team up with players from across the country to take on the timeless war of words, racing against the clock to give and guess clues in one of TV’s all-time great word-association games. “$100,000 Pyramid” is a 10-episode series and will air this summer on the ABC Television Network.

“Growing up, Pyramid was one of my favorite shows to watch with my family,” said Michael Strahan.” He added, “Watching the celebrities and players become a competitive team is always fun to see. I’m looking forward to bringing it back for the new generation to enjoy as well!”

“$100,000 Pyramid” is produced by SMAC Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures Television and will be taped in front of a live audience in New York. The all-new “$100,000 Pyramid” is executive-produced by Michael Strahan, Constance Schwartz and Vin Rubino.
