2 Broke Girls: Season Seven; Would You Keep Watching the CBS Sitcom?

2 Broke Girls TV show on CBS: (canceled or renewed?)

Are you hungry for more 2 Broke Girls? Season six of the CBS TV series ends tonight, April 17th. But what about a seventh season? If renewed, will you keep watching the sitcom?

The comedy follows the unlikely duo of streetwise Max Black (Kat Dennings) and formerly-wealthy Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs), who work in a greasy diner that they now partially own. The cast also includes Garrett Morris, Jonathan Kite, Matthew Moy, and Jennifer Coolidge.

As is expected, the ratings for 2 Broke Girls have fallen since the sitcom premiered in 2011. So far, season six is averaging a 1.33 rating in the 18-49 demo and 5.671 million viewers—middling for a primetime network comedy.

According to Deadline, mediocre ratings aren’t the show’s only problem. CBS is reportedly locked in tough negotiations with the series’ producing studio, Warner Bros. TV. The studio owns 2 Broke Girls outright and profits heavily from the show’s successful off-network airings while CBS receives no backend from the deal and still has to cover the show’s costs. It seems like the show is too lucrative to cancel, but will the renewal negotiations succeed? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
