TV show season ratingsWhich TV shows are doing the best? The worst? Wondering how your favorite series are doing in the ratings? Here are the season average ratings of the 2014-15 network TV shows — through the end of week one (Sunday, September 28, 2014).

ABC shows (so far): 20/20, Black-ish, Dancing with the Stars, Forever, The Goldbergs, Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, The Middle, Modern Family, Nashville, Once Upon a Time, Resurrection, Revenge, Shark Tank, and Scandal.

CBS shows (so far): 48 Hours, 60 Minutes, The Amazing Race, The Big Bang Theory, Blue Bloods, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Good Wife, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, NCIS, NCIS: New Orleans, Person of Interest, Scorpion, and Survivor.

FOX shows (so far): Bones, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Family Guy, Gotham, Hell’s Kitchen, The Mindy Project, New Girl, Red Band Society, The Simpsons, Sleepy Hollow, and Utopia.

NBC shows (so far): The Biggest Loser, The Blacklist, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Dateline NBC, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Mysteries of Laura, Parenthood, and The Voice.

The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing). The demos are typically reported with one decimal place but I’ve included two for more accurate ranking.

Keep in mind that the demo numbers are typically what’s most important to advertisers. Therefore, that’s how the networks measure success. Advertisers pay more for ad time on a show that has a higher demo rating. Because older viewers don’t count? No, it’s because younger viewers watch less traditional TV and are harder to reach.
