Absentia just premiered last month, but will it get a second season? Deadline reports Samantha Corbin-Miller has been hired as the new showrunner for the Amazon series.
The crime drama stars Stana Katic as Emily Byrne, an FBI Special Agent who is found clinging to life after mysteriously disappearing years ago. The cast also includes Patrick Heusinger, Cara Theobold, Neil Jackson, Angel Bonanni, Richard Brake, Ralph Ineson, Paul Freeman, Bruno Bichir, and Patrick McAuley.
Even though Prime Video doesn’t release ratings, a new showrunner suggests the streaming service is at least thinking of a season two renewal for Absentia. Corbin-Miller has previously worked on the cancelled ABC TV show Conviction and Law & Order: SVU.
