What’s going on with American Crime Story: Katrina? Recently, director Anthony Hemingway spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the planned third season of the FX TV show.

Initially, American Crime Story: Katrina was supposed to the second season of the crime drama anthology. However, FX postponed the season and replaced it with The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, which is slated to debut in early 2018.

At this summer’s TCA press conference, director Anthony Hemingway revealed that there may not be a Katrina season of American Crime Story:

That just kind of got stalled. …We’re all standing by waiting to find out what’s happening. … Nothing has really been done. We haven’t started prep on it at all.”

Later, he added that the season also got postponed because executive producer Ryan Murphy has been focusing on the Versace season:

I just think that was [what was] at play. It was the bird-in-hand syndrome. [Versace] needed a lot of attention, so I think he just made the decision to do that. Instead of do what was intended, which was doing them parallel at the same time, he chose to do them one at a time.”

What do you think? Did you watch season one of American Crime Story? Will you watch future seasons?
