Get ready for more American Crime Story. Recently, FX chief John Landgraf revealed there are two more seasons of American Crime Story in development, TVGuide reports.
From Ryan Murphy, the anthology drama explores one major true crime story a season. The upcoming second season will center on the events surrounding the 1997 murder of the famous Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace. The cast includes Edgar Ramirez, Ricky Martin, Penelope Cruz, and Darren Criss.
Speaking at this week’s Television Critics Association press tour, Landgraf says there are two more seasons of American Crime Story in the works but he hasn’t seen a script yet for either. One of those seasons will focus on Hurrican Katrina and the other will explore the Monica Lewinsky-Bill Clinton scandal:
I don’t know about the Monica Lewinsky-Linda Tripp story. It’s just in development and I haven’t seen a script yet, so I don’t know yet where that’s at yet or if it’s good enough.
Similarly on Katrina, as we announced, we took a really different approach and made a deal for a really great book, and that’s in active development but I haven’t seen a script. But I couldn’t tell you after [The Assassination of Gianni Versace] what the next installment of American Crime Story will be. It might be Katrina, it might be something else. I can just tell you there will be one.”
American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace premieres on FX on January 17th.
