What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network, American Housewife revolves around an average wife and mom, Katie (Katy Mixon). She does her best to stand out from the “perfect” housewives and their privileged children of Westport. Katie’s husband (Diedrich Bader) is a logical guy and supports her in every way he can, including working to ensure that their children (Meg Donnelly, Daniel DiMaggio, and Julia Butters) do not end up like everyone else in their neighborhood. Katie’s friends are played by Carly Hughes and Ali Wong.
Season One Ratings
The first season of American Housewife averaged a 1.43 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.19 million viewers. Compare American Housewife’s performance against the other ABC TV shows.
On May 11, 2017, American Housewife was renewed for a second season.
Season two will debut on September 27, 2017 at 9:30pm.

Telly’s Take
With 10 hours of ABC’s schedule devoted to comedies, there’s a lot of pressure for the Alphabet Network execs to keep developing new sitcoms. They’ve had some misses but it appears that American Housewife isn’t one of them. The TV show is performing well in the ratings so I’m confident that it will be returning for season two.
