There’s lots of data that network execs looks at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but ratings are the major ingredient. These charts will be updated daily, as new ratings data becomes available.

A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released. The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing), unless marked with an asterisk (*). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
Keep in mind that the demo numbers are typically what’s most important to advertisers. Therefore, that’s how the networks measure success. Advertisers pay more for ad time on a show that has a higher demo rating. Because older viewers don’t count? No, it’s because younger viewers watch less traditional TV and are harder to reach.
Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking. The networks take into account when shows air on Fridays and Saturdays, nights when TV viewership is lower.

Absolutely LOVE Zoo and Salvation. If I have to miss them I always DVR them. Both are captivating. The finale for Salvation left us hanging. Hope we find out more!

Out of all the shows you list I watch 3. Have not been able to watch more than 3 minutes of the view in years. The View has turned into a malicious click of misologist. Not sure if they realize how many viewer TV has lost.
The analysis of why some shows being canceled and others being renewed does not compute. However I am looking at the data, not personalities. I have to admit I do NOT watch network TV anymore (it’s been years), and for precisely this reason.
Why would you renew the bachelor and bachelorette but cancel Still Star Crossed!!! You’ve cancelled so many great shows leaving garbage the view on !!!! WTH are you thinking…

I am so bummed . I loved the show Downward Dog. Please rethink ,had wonderful meaning of life ! Please cancel some other crappy realty show. So surprised that DD is cancelled. The writing was excellent.
ABC sucks they. Cancelled downward dog and imaginary Mary. Those were 2 of the best new shows they need to cancel some of the real crap they have on reality tv is a bunch of hipped up crap
This network seems not to like people going against your thoughts. Look what happened to the guy from the Muppets? They they fired him after 40 years! Now tell me this how can you trust in network that will fire somebody just because they care about the show then keep. Then continue a show called bachelors paradise which has had some legal problems that were against women violence .I don’t understand what this network is thinking.

I’m a Nielsen carrier and I turned it on and once again they are going off about our president. I’m over it. Get it off the air. Nothing important or even entertaining about the program. Only one sided and god forbid if you differ from their opinion. You will quickly go to commercial.
I hope it’s true that I may have a little bit more backing in the cancellation of the program by having Neilson behind me. It didn’t help with last man standing so we will see.

I cannot believe Barbara Walters is producer of this show.. the View. Full of hate. Should be cancelled. Cannot believe Disney is also in charge.
CANCEL THE VIEW!!!! These women are out of control. Spewing hatred everyday. No longer an enjoyable show. I no longer tune in to what has turned out to be a political side show.
I stopped watching ABC from their news outlets, especially GMA…awful. Kelly and now Ryan…oh God how dull. They offer nothi g but bias news and stupidity. I hope you loose enough viewers tbat you get cancelled.
